Alicia Reid


Soprano Alicia Reid is a Masters student at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Alicia is an alumnus of UNCSA, where she studied voice with Dr. Marilyn Taylor. She was a finalist in the 2016 Rosen-Schaffel Concerto Competition at Appalachian State University. She has also been a national finalist for the Classical Singer Vocal Competition and has received superior ratings in the National Association of Teachers of Singing competitions, most recently placing 1st in her category at the state level. She has most recently performed the role of Königin der Nacht in Mozart’s "Die Zauberflöte", Helene in Hindemith's "Hin und zurück", and the title character in "Little Red Riding Hood", a children’s outreach opera with the UNC Greensboro Opera Theatre. Alicia has performed in productions with Piedmont Opera, including the Shepherd Boy in "Tosca", First Spirit in "Die Zauberflöte", and various ensemble roles. Other credits from her time at UNC School of the Arts include Lauretta in Bizet’s "Doctor Miracle", and the role of Phyllis in "Iolanthe" with Greensboro Light Opera and Song. Originally from Canada, Alicia is also a classically trained harpist.
