Pianist Carson Hayes made his New York debut in Carnegie Hall’s Weil Recital Hall in 2014 as a guest of the InterHarmony International Music Festival. He has performed throughout Italy, Spain, The United Kingdom, Germany, The Czech Republic, and the US as both a soloist and chamber musician. After winning the Florida State University Young Artist Concerto Competition in 2015, he performed Rachmaninoff’s First Piano Concerto with the FSU Philharmonia Orchestra. Other competition wins include the Tennessee MTNA Young Artist Competition, the University of Tennessee Young Artist Concerto Competition, and the UT Celebration of Excellence Competition. He has been selected to perform in masterclasses for André Watts, Byron Janis, HJ Lim, and others. Hayes received a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from UT, Knoxville, studying under Dr. David Northington, and continued his education at FSU, where he received a Master of Music degree in piano, studying under the late Dr. Joel Hastings. Carson has also studied with Stijn De Cock, Read Gainsford, and David Kalhous. Along with his wife, Caroline, Carson is excitedly anticipating the birth of his first child and enjoys the outdoors.
