Clarinetist Sophie Kass earned both her Graduate Performance Diploma and Bachelor of Music in Clarinet Performance at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, where she studied with Michael Norsworthy. During her time in Boston, she was second clarinetist of the Boston Civic Symphony and performed with the The Bay State Stompers Dixie Band and throughout the Boston area. Sophie has performed at New Music on the Point and at the Cortona Sessions for New Music in Italy, the Orford Summer Octet Workshop in Canada, in Austria as a member of the World Youth Wind Orchestra Project, at the Belgian Clarinet Academy, and with the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra for their 2018 Summer European Tour. Sophie is currently a Teaching Assistant at the University of North Carolina Greensboro, where she studies with Anthony Taylor and Andy Hudson. She is also pursuing a certification in the Alexander Technique from the Boston Conservatory at Berkle, where she studies with Deborah Adams.
